Vijay Suri, Chief Executive Officier, President & Founder
Mr. Suri was the founder and President of The Irus Group Inc., which merged with InferX in 2009. Mr. Suri brings to InferX
over 20 years of experience designing and implementing complex business intelligence and corporate performance management
solutions using OLAP, data warehousing and ERP technologies. Prior to starting The Irus Group Inc., he served in various
management positions at Fannie Mae, Information Resources Incorporated (IRI Software) and Oracle Corporation. Mr. Suri
developed the "Iterative Prototyping Development Approach" (IPDA) methodology for implementing OLAP and data warehousing projects.
Under his guidance, The Irus Group Inc. emerged as a market leader in the Business Intelligence and Analytics community, as well
as a global firm offering large-scale turn-key solutions.
Mr. Suri holds an MBA from Alabama A&M University, Huntsville, AL. He is a graduate of the Leadership Development Program from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD and a graduate from the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program (HBS-OPM 37); a comprehensive multi-year program helping global business leaders understand the strategic and tactical challenges and opportunities associated with owning, running, and sustaining a profitable enterprise.
B.K. Gogia, Director of Health Initiatives & Founder
Mr. Gogia is an accomplished business leader and entrepreneur with recognized expertise and notable credentials in the technology industry. He brings to InferX proven skills in developing and executing strategic plans for advanced privacy preservation in emerging markets. Mr. Gogia established InferX in 1999 to commercialize distributed data mining software developed at Datamat Systems Research, Inc.; a research and development firm he founded in 1992 to develop advanced analytical solutions for government agencies, particularly the Defense Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), National Geo-Spatial Agency (NGA), Department of the Navy and Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). Prior to this, he served as Technical Director/Software Manager at Science Applications International Corporation, and held a senior technical position with Lockheed Martin. He began his career as a systems engineer and software developer with Data General in the field of compilers and operating systems.Mr. Gogia is a graduate of the prestigious Mindshare program for CEOs of the most promising technology companies in the greater Washington, D.C. area. He holds a Master's of Science degree in Computer Science from New York Institute of Technology and a postgraduate management degree with a major in Marketing from The Institute of Marketing and Management, India; he earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Delhi, India.
Dr. Jerzy W. Bala, Chief Technology Officer & Co-founder
Dr. Bala is the key architect of InferX's product suite and is a noted expert in decision support systems, distributed data mining, machine learning, automatic target recognition, genetic algorithms, advanced visualization and intelligent information retrieval and extraction. During his 12 year career, he served as a Principle Investigator engaged in a number of projects supporting the Navy, Air Force, DARPA, MDA and the National Imagery and Mapping Agency.Dr. Bala has conceived several new data mining techniques: distributed machine learning-based mining approach (InferAgent), a data mining approach geared towards the interactive acquisition and display of visual knowledge representations (InferView), data mining approaches for rule induction from computer vision generated data, a Genetic Algorithms-based approach for knowledge model refinement, and a machine learning-based cleansing approach for highly contaminated data environments. His Ph.D. thesis described a class of symbolic machine learning-based mining techniques for inferring visual concept descriptions from low-level sensory databases. In 1993, he was awarded a two-year prestigious postdoctoral research grant by the National Science Foundation in Computational Science and Engineering to investigate a class of multi-strategy machine learning algorithms. His research has produced 90 publications in the form of book chapters, journals, and conference proceedings.
Dr. Bala holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, and a Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland.
Ray Piluso, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Piluso serves as the firm's Operations Executive leading and implementing company growth initiatives, delivery operations plans, business development, and sales/marketing strategies. Mr. Piluso leads business growth through organic business capture and supports strategic teaming initiatives. He began his career in the U.S. Army and transferred to private industry to lead technology implementation for a large-scale Defense program.Mr. Piluso is a senior operations and sales executive with more than 19 years of IT solutions experience that span from small to large enterprise environments. Holding various leadership positions, Mr. Piluso has a proven record of building teams that earn reputations for quality, excellence, solution delivery, and customer satisfaction. Companies he has worked for prior to joining InferX include: Advanced Technology Inc., PRC, Inc., Cameron Run Group, Inc., Compaq Computer, and Hewlett-Packard, Inc. In addition to 19 years experience in the private sector, Mr. Piluso currently serves in the U.S. Army Reserve. With over 28 years of total military service, Mr. Piluso brings operational, managerial, and technical experience from around the globe.
Mr. Piluso holds a B.S. degree from University of Southern Colorado, Pueblo, CO, along with multiple certifications from various technology companies.
