Dr. Farzad Najam

Farzad Najam, MD, FACS, is currently the Associate Director of Cardiac Surgery at the George Washington University (GWU) Hospital in Washington, DC, USA. Dr. Najam also holds an appointment as the Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the GWU Medical Center, Washington, DC. Dr. Najam is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) and International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS). He received the GWU Hospital Baldridge Physician of the month award in 2008 and has published numerous articles in peer reviewed medical journals. He is also the co-editor of Robotic Surgery: Theory and Operative Technique, a ground-breaking textbook on robotic surgery, published by McGraw Hill Inc, New York, NY. The book won the first prize at the 2009 British Medical Association Medical Books Awards.
